Grade 12 students... how's it going?

Is your CAS Programme currently balanced and interesting?

Have you received the supervisor comment for a completed experience?

Is Managebac up to date?

I do hope so!

Important changes of which to be aware

There is no longer a requirement for a minimum amount of experiences or hours. Therefore please do not say "I have 4 activities left to do" or "this counts as two hours" for example. In fact, do aim not to use the word "counts" at all.

Instead, you must show a weekly commitment to CAS and provide evidence of this on Managebac. Work on the quality of what you do, the quality of your reflections and achieve a balance of experiences across the 3 strands.

It is now called the CAS project, not the Group Sustained Project, so please do not refer to it as "GSP" anymore.

___________

You have 2 CAS periods scheduled during homeroom time this year and you need to be using that time very wisely indeed, for example to write (or maybe even rewrite) your reflections, so that they are a great summary of what you planned, did, achieved and learnt. You could also use the time to do some research about a new skill you would like to learn or to contact people with regards to your CAS project, if you have not done at least one by now.

Please note that the quality of your reflections throughout an experience and when it ends is extremely important. Brief, descriptive reflections will not be accepted and you will be asked to rewrite them. Reflections must allow you to think about a variety of elements associated with the experience; they must be easily understandable and clearly show what you have learned.

Please refer to the                                       for further details. You may speak to your CAS Advisor or to the CAS Coordinator if you need assistance with this part of the programme.

___________

I will be speaking to some students in particular soon with regards to the responses given to the survey. However, anyone is more than welcome to email me or pop by the office should you wish to discuss anything.

If you do something of which you are particularly proud,

do make sure you let me know about it!
